What is thermography?

Thermography is a temperature measurement technique using an infrared camera.
The thermal camera is a passive measuring instrument, that is to say that it emits nothing! It simply measures the radiation that arrives at its thermal sensors. The temperature control by thermal camera is therefore “non-destructive”.

Each body emits infrared radiation depending on its temperature. The thermal camera measures the radiation emitted and applies a visible color depending on the temperature zones detected. Generally, the hot zones are colored in red then white and the cold zones are in blue. On the image opposite, there are insulation concerns revealed in red while the house is in a cold environment.

Thermography is the only technique allowing to see the thermal behavior of the targeted elements and this, in a non-destructive way!
